anna, libya, and london...

this will be remembered as the year of unrest! the blaze from the mid-east, the senseless looting of london, and the peaceful fasting in delhi have certainly grabbed a lot of eye balls of late... it would, in the years to come, also prove to be a turning point in modern civic history, akin to that of the renaissance, and the democratization of the free world. the revolution is yet to come, we are only seeing the symtoms of this new malice. this isnt a disease though; this is only the churning of the pot, the turning of the wheel... a new chapter in human history begins! this, is the twitterification of the universe! democracy, an idea as old as plato and socrates, and an ideal that has striken fear in the hearts of the monarchs and despots of the world, had changed life for all over the past 1000 years... the basic principle of democracy was simple: instead of subjugating one's life to the whims of ONE man (or family) forever, one would CHOOSE who would rule over you... it...

moving on...

some kids ARE slow. they land up in school, wake up one day, and realise that everyone else can read! and then they panic, and begin to learn to read... they land up in computer class, and realise that everyone is actually coding! (ok, writing crummy 'programs' in basic, but whatever!) and the same panic hits again! attempt to jump a few step, run, and catch up. before one leaves school, everyone has a girlfriend! whaa?! how did that happen? and where was our protagonist? obviously, not wooing the she-kind! dont get me wrong: these kids arent retards. far from it. they are just bored of the world... they dont really notice things as challenges, till they sufficiently are so. it IS a vice, but its also encoded into their dna, its gentic; sad, but true... with age however, some things get worse, and some things get even worse... everyone is married. hell, everyone has a kid, kids, even. some even separated, married again, AND have kids. phew. and our kid is still looking; o...

common wealth, the selfish way

they say it was pretty much the same in beijing, as in other venues of mega sporting events worldwide. they say we will eventually pull it off... sure, it wont be perfect, but it would be grand. sure it wouldnt be the best in the world, but it would be nice... disgusting. theres a fundamental difference between what beijing was doing and what we are attempting. and it can be summed up in one word: ambition. china's ambition is to be no. 1, period. they wanted to create landmarks: events, buildings, cities, achievements. the birds nest. the aquatic centre. high quality design, superb construction, stunning iconic pieces. something that would live longer than the games, as would china's sporting medals, the most by a nation, easily defeating the us of a. back to beloved dilli: nondescript stadiums being 'renovated' to strange standards, nothing remotely glamorous, classical (thank heavens!) or modern about them. NO design statements being made. no flourish. no jazz...
flowers before dawn... sometimes, the sun lights up the sky, before its dawn sometimes, the birds sing, before they are born sometimes, the flowers bloom, before the seeds hit the ground sometimes, its rains, before the thunder hits the ground sometimes, i wish, i could sleep forever sometimes, i wish, i could sleep forever
